I just bought a 2003 Crest Savannah 25' pontoon for a discounted price since it needed to be cleaned, serviced, and had water in one or both pontoons. Once I took it out of the water, I found that electrolysis from the speedometer & depth finder wires caused pitting on both end caps. I took it to a local fabrication place to repair the leaks and he is telling me that he doesn't want to patch the area because it could continue down the pontoon and "open a can of worms". He wants to just replace both end caps but we can't find anyone that sells them.
Do you all agree with the approach? If so, where can I find replacement end caps?
