Title says it all! I need to patch a rip in the hull and I don't know where to get a sheet of appropriate aluminum.

Did some searching to no avail. Is there something specifically sold for this? Or so I need to know gauge, specific alloy, etc

I just skinned over my transom with .060 thick 5052 aluminum sheet. I got it from a local welding shop. I've also used metal supermarket, there's one an hour from me.

The original metal had corrosion perforations on the inside from the wet wood rotting inside. I cut a piece of aluminum sheet about 1/4" smaller than the transom troweled 3m 5200 on the transom and riveted and bolted my skin on. Just waiting for the 5200 to cure.
