Where does this Cable Clamp go?

Does anyone know where this clamp goes (on the motor or the boat?)?

I think it goes anywhere along the cables path where the cables need to be organized...

so basically the boat...

I had an older aluminum boat and it several of thiose containing the cables on their way back to the transom

I think Bob might be right but if you post the hp and year someone might look at there set up and be more certain. It would not surprise me if it attaches to that large plate either. Best of luck. Rick.

Bob is correct. They help to keep a straight, direct path for the cable. Every bend and turn introduces slack and friction. So you want to keep it all at a minimum.
