I just was thinking about the old days, when most people here gave all the data in their 'Iboats personality' section. Don't get me wrong, I don't offer much extra, although I like pics of people/boats/places when we get them. But lately it seems like no one is listing where they are hailing from- what gives? As if telling where you're from really hurts. I really like knowing who is where, so I can get to know them somewhat, and feel a part of their world.

please list your town, state, country.

or spill the beans on why not. :D

Sure thing ebb.

Rayland, Ohio. Never heard of it? Don't surprise me none. Just a fly speck north of Wheeling, West By-God Virginia. On the Ohio side of course. Sets right on the Mighty Ohio River. Kinda nice place. Only about 10 minutes from the yard to being on the water. :D :D :D

Re: where are you from?

West Palm Beach, Florida.. Where there are more New Yorkers that actual Floridians... Not that theres anything wrong with New York.. :p

Guess I'm sort of an indangered species as I'm one of few real "Native" Florida crackers left in these here parts.. :D

Seriously though... If folks would post even a general location it could be helpful in figureing out a problem with an engine due to cold climate, heat, or altitude, ect..

Garland Texas, but have a contract on a house in Royce City Texas. I have been doing most of my boating on Lake Ray Hubbard, but soon to be boating on Lake Tawakoni (north east texas) I can't wait! Fishing is much better I hear than Lake Ray Hubbard. Anyone here fished, or know anything about Lake Tawakoni?

Re: where are you from?

Am I the only Canadian on here? I'm from Vancouver. And Saturday will be my first day boating. My friend is lending me her Maxum 2700. This will be a good test for me. Never driven a boat before. Now's a good time to learn!

Re: where are you from?

Hey vansammy....
First day on the water. Friend is lending you HER boat. Dang! Wooshed I had a friend like that. On a serious note....If this is your first outing, maybe you outa take her along. Not just for the company but to show ya the ropes of boating. It can get ugly on the water real quick if ya' don't know the craft or how to pilot one.

Re: where are you from?

I'd love to have her along, but she doesn't know how to boat herself. Her husband is the guru, and he's out of town. She's selling her boat, and I've got a buyer. I promised I'd clean up the boat in exchange for a spin in the harbour. I took my boat safe online course, but I don't have any hands-on experience. I'm trusting I'll be able to pickup the skill this weekend (without causing too much damage!)... Any recommendations?

Re: where are you from?

van- we got plenty of canadians here, at least 6 regulars. if its like you said, and you don't have any old salts to go with you, then be sure to feel out the slow maneuvering really well, because that will be important when you bring the boat to dock. really important. extremely important. but i didn't know what size boat you're gonna be on.

have fun in the channel. remember it forever- enjoy. good luck. its a small boat right?

Tehama County, (Redbluff) NorthernCalifornia. Cattle/ Almond/ Walnut/ Olive country. Five minutes from the Sacramento River and a fine view of Mt. Lassen out of the living room window.

Beaumont Texas. Everybody's been there on their way to somewhere else on I10. Nice town. I keep it minimal because I'm still leary about the internet, so don't tell anyone! Ived moved some five times since growing up there, am still in Texas, but that's home to me.

Re: where are you from?

Ebb, good idea. Just imagine if we could travel around and see where everybody comes from - what a grand tour that would be!

The Internet is an amazing bridge to the rest of the world - particularly when you're so far away like we are down here in NZ...

Here's a picture of the Whangamata boat ramp at low tide - and NOT during holiday season. I go there often with my family and enjoy the sleepy slow pace of the place - and the superb boating and fishing environment. That's when I'm not in Auckland (ex-home of the America's Cup) that is ;)

Re: where are you from?

Well everyone knows I'm from the sticks here in Kentucky, right next to Ashland.
About 100 miles east of Lexington.

Speaking of talking across the table, anyone got a webcam? :D

I know what would be great, a i-boat member get-together, once a year or two, so we all could meet each other.
Some place centrally located in the US.

Somewhere around St. Louis, Mo.

Any ideas?

oh yea, if you ain't seen my ugly mug before, here it is.
Must warn you to not let your children see this. :D
Re: where are you from?

Is Indianapolis Indiana centrally located.
No, I don't live there BUT,..... I can find it.

Home is Martintucky, uh,... Sorry, Martinsville, Indiana. Well, almost. Martinsville, population of 10,000 is the closest town to me.

Five years ago, the wife and I had our fill of urban living, packed up the herd (5 kids + wife + self =7)and moved to the sticks. Three acres of craggy moraine woods, on a little 60 acre lake, adjacent to another 80 acers of woods, 1/4 mile from the White River, 10 minutes from 40,000+ acres of state and National forests. It aint heaven on earth BUT,.... it's awful close to it.

I'll post some pics as soon as I can figger how to slip 'em into this dang machine.

AN' yup! think a get 2-gether wud B a dandy!

Let's werk on concensus for local.
