when did merc change the wiring harness from the side to the red harness plug? this will give me an idea how old this motor is OB300023 155 hp.

Drop the "O" and it looks like it's a <br /><br />150 B241881 - C100860 1988 V6 for a 150 HP, that is....

I believe that the change was made in 1984. The same time that the transom bracket was changed and the power trim/tilt was integrated into the transom bracket.<br /><br />Please correct me if I am wrong.<br /><br />Craig
