Bear with me I am newly registered. My husband and I purchased and old flat back canoe recently which was on a "Tee Nee" trailer as identified by and oval manufacturers sticker which came off of one of the fenders and had Tee Nee in black letters. This trailer has a coupler:confused: that fits a 1 7/8 ball. It was altered and had been cut and an additional center piece  welded on to it. The rest of the alterations for the added length were a cob job that I cannot describe. :( Its "face" plate identifies it as a Tee Nee trailer with a serial # TT 24911. Made in Youngstown OH. It is a single axle and is a pale yellow. I believe this is a repainted color as the sticker has yellow paint on it. If there is a VIN #, I have been unable to locate it.:( Since he and my son-in-law are about to refurbish it a second time with new longer center piece, new axles (keeping the tires) and repainting it. They are keeping the parts that are still useable. Love to know more, Susan :redface

Re: What year was my Tee Nee trailer made?

Bond-o, thanks for your response. Unfortunately, we have no previous registration for the trailer. It had no plate when we bought the boat. We have registrations for the boat from Maine dating back to 2002. So, I can't answer this. Since the boat was registered in ME I may be able to use the VIN # to locate a previous registration in ME or NH. But thanks for your information. Do you know if Tee Nee went out of business or was purchased. May be I could id it via the VIN # that way. I would like to find a new Tee Nee label but may have to figure out how to clean up the one I have. Any further thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks again, Susan

Ayuh,... I donno much 'bout Tee Nee in particular, a boat trailer is a pile of parts to me,...
I mix, 'n match to do whatever I need, or weld up my own creations...
Paint colors are whatever Rustoleum I've got layin' 'round... ;)

Are ya tryin' to licence the wagon, or just tryin' to restore to original,..??

If yer chasin' a registration, that'll depend on the State yer tryin' to do it in...
'n Maine is 'bout as Easy as it gets, I hear,...

For yer Sticker,... Take what you've got to a custom Sign Shop,....
They can repo it in today's vinyls...

Still not sure about how to reply. I think I may have used a different way last time. i know I searched all over to find a place that a reply seemed to work.

Not trying to restore it to original. Using your method but we bought the rustoleum and purchased new parts as needed from "Northern Tool" I think that is the name. The idea about the sticker is a good one. I found it on ebay for 89 bucks. Too much for a sticker. Think maybe it was 4 big size. I need only one small size. Thanks again. Susan

Try Vintage Boat Supply here. They have some Tee Nee signage for way less than 90 clams. Good luck.

if it has coil springs it is probably from the fifties. decals available on ebay. yellow and black were factory colors. rounded fenders (whell pants) very valuable. best restored to original specs!!!!! i have two of these trailers they currently bring upwards of 1000. at auction. let me knpw if you decide to sell. i suspect that it was made in february 1949 and was the 11th one made that month. tee nee is out of business however there is an nos restrorer in pa im told.
