Im guessing you wanted to know how old the boat is, cause you didn't post any detailed pics of the motor.
Idk how old it is, but I thought rope steering went the way of the Doo-Doo bird in the 60s.
A friend drowned cause the rope broke at WOT, slinging everyone out of the boat.

Serial number starts with '61 - and that's as good a guess as any for the year the boat was made. Fits the style.

What information are you trying to get specifically?

Nice little boat. Welcome aboard.

It was a lack of maintenance not the rope that caused the accident. I still go with coated steel cable when I do a restoration.

Thanks guys.. I was assuming it would be a 1961 model year.
It came with a 40hp Evinrude Big Twin, I know its rated for that but way too much than I actually want.
Looking to find a 18-25hp, prefer 18 cause I have to carry the motor to the water. Our dams failed last year and left with low water and no way to launch a boat, so stuck with this style for few years.
I want to find pictures so I can make a windshield, put the correct seats back in, and possibly give it some paint.

I've had several Sea King motors; the first was a 5hp OMC 1950's vintage and the last a 1970's Chrysler 20hp, which would really move a 14' Lone Star across the water.

Thanks for the information, Cant find anything on my model number, some close but none the same, weird..
The boat has vinyl coated cable for steering, but it is trashed, I intend to replace.
Not sure how far I am going to go on the restoration yet, really wanna find a lighter motor, too old to be lifting a 145lb motor down a hill.
Will keep all posted.
Thanks Again..
