What year is my 2 Stroke Mercury or Suzuki?

I buy recently an "old" motor 2 stroke and I want to repair them. The problem is I dont know the manufacturing year also capacity (hp). I have looking inside and I found a code 108588 see attached picture.
Could somebody help me finding the year and hp ?

I am not an expert. I dont know about Suzuki, but is look like Mercury-Mariner comparing with specific book I found on internet. Please tell me if you need more pictures. Thank you.

These motors all look the same 6 , 8 , 9.9 , 15 HP.----So picture of cowling may help.----Carburetor jet size may help.----Is there no serial number sticker ?

Understand, but no sticker inside. I will come back with cowl picture and details after next test on the wather. Now I order an adaptor for my boat (short leg 460mm), because the motor is long 580mm.
First test without adaptor was not relevant, maximum speed was 12 km/hour. Issue detected is sometime is not running continuously (is changing the noise). I also measure compresion and that is low (7-8). I need to find the year motor and hp for ordering the right kit change.

I come back with an update.

I changed the sparking plugs with that was reccomanded în Mercury catalog and now the motor is running continuously well (without changing the noise) I tested the maximum speed with 2 people on the boath is now 14 km/hour. I tested also with only one, and measured maximum speed is 23-24 km/hour.

After all these one of my frend tell me that seems to be a 8 Power horse motor.

What do you think?

This could be right?

Could you tell me what to check/investigate more?
I dont know, maybe if I change the propeller could I have more speed?
