The T stands for power trim/tilt electric start. The Z stands for 30" extra long shaft length.

What would a person have to do to make it a 20 inch shaft motor?

If it were me, I would look for 20 inch shaft motor with a blown powerhead. There are numerous parts that would have to be changed out to make it a 20 inch. And that would probably be the cheapest way to go.
