What would you suspect?

This summer I experienced a leak under the rear right hand side under the decking of my 74 Seaswirl. The boat was in a slip for two months and the carpeting would be soaked in this area, but not the rest of the decking or carpet got wet. Some how the water would make its way into the bilge so I was able to keep it limited to that area only. There is no water on the inside of the boat walls or the inside wall of the transom. What would you suspect?

Thanks

Re: What would you suspect?

First thing I'd inspect would be the hull in that area and then entirely. Not sure exactly the area where you're describing, but that response would apply to any leak. Could be nearby through-hulls or damage, etc. It would be best to post a picture of the area in question.

Water can enter in the front and exit in the rear, keep in mind. It will always follow the path of least resistance, so sometimes tracking down the source can take some serious time.
