what type paint/fiberglass

can you use a automotive base coat,clear coat or best to use one of the marine type paints.thanks for any direction you can give me. jim

I have used base/clear automotive on jet skis, holds up fine.

Previous owner painted my boat with automotive paint and it held up good and had a mirror gloss. Had to sad it down though because it was full of runs plus he spray over the decals & reg. #s

Automotive paint costs more than marine paint.

Rustoleum makes a marine paint at a very good cost, anywhere from $15 - $19 dollars a quart. Many on this site have also used regular restoleum with very pleasing results.
