what to thin rustoleum with mineral spirits or acetone for roll and tip?

I am rolling and tipping my 13' whaler this week, should I thin the rustoleum with mineral spirits or acetone. I have read to thin it with whatever the can lists to use to clean up with, (which is mineral spirits) but I have read here to use acetone with rustoleum paint up to 10% when roll and tip and up to 25% when spraying. Thanks for any help!
Also what would make a good wash solution before and after the sanding, I was going to use hot water, amonia, and a little dawn dish soap. If I wipe the surface down with acetone, it messes up the previous paint making it soft and negating any effects from my sanding to get the new paint to stick!

Check the can, I think one of the ingredients is Acetone. If it is, use that for thinning but never thin in more than 5% increments.

Hi guys , I just put my second coat on and rust-oleum calls for mineral spirits 5 % is called for , I went about 7 % and the bubbles poped as soon as the roller went over !!

Ps mine is turning out so sweet !! John

i just finished painting my boat sunday.... i must say it turned out sweet.... did u guys use regular rustoleum or marine?

p.s. i thinned it with about 5% mineral spirits

Thats the pdf for it and is says no need for thinning when rolling it but I liked it a lot better thinned !!!when spraying it calls for the acetone, 15 % John

Plain ol gloss white rustoleum here, using the roll & roll method not thinned.
Did have to "lightly" roll the bubbles out instead of tipping

Warm (above 50) day use the slow drying mineral spirit (paint thinner).
Cold days acetone or nothing for rolling and brushing.
