Rainy Lake Minnesota side was great. Walleye fishing was awesome. Pulled in a 24 1/2" walleye on 6 lb test with a small pole. The next cast, the pole snapped in half. I will never forget that one.

Manitowish chain in Wisconsin. Great Small Mouth and Bluegill fishing. OK, walleye fishing

Another small lake in Wisconsin. Losts of Large mouth and plenty of Bluegills for a fish fry

Oneida Lake - Take at least a 16' boat, she's wide and can get really rough with a little wind so you want enough motor to get off the water in a hurry

Otisco Lake - My little 14' does this one well. 5 1/2 miles long and 3/4 mile wide. Lots of big fish (walleye, Bass, Brown Trout, Tiger Muskie)

Whitney Point Reservoir - I like this one because it's close to home. 4 1/2 miles long but not too wide. Max. hp restriction set at 25 hp. You don't need a lot of boat to get around on this one.

then we have the Chenango and Susquehanna Rivers. Limited boat access but plenty of good fishing.

Im in Arkansas. I fish Lake Catherine and Hamilton(because they are close, NOT because they actually have any fish in them) d:)

On a week long camping trip, I have gone to Lake Milwood. Lake Ouachita and Lake Degray are both a day trip from here but I have not made it to either yet. Only been here for about 10 months now.

Flathead Lake in Western Montana. Lake Trout and Superior Whitefish. Several good launch points and not much boat traffic at the ramps. Except on Mac Attack weekends. Limit on Mac's (lakers) is 20 per person per day. In 2007 that will be going to 50 per person per day. Yes, we have a laker problem. Whitefish bite is strong from early August to mid September and then they're mostly gone. 100 per person per day. Really.

If you're going for Lakers, think deep. Wire or downriggers. Flatfish in the mud for trophy size (36"+), typical Great Lakes rig for all sizes. Typical is 24" - 4lb or so. Occasional 25-28"

For Whitefish, jigging. One lure - rattlesnakies, 1/2 oz in 45-65ft of water off the points. One heck of a scrapper and 3lb is average. 4lb is frequent. It is very possible to fill a 100 qt cooler in less than two hours. Done that.

The name of the lake is Bay Lake in Eustis. Most days produce bass 5-6 lbs, and have caught several over 10 with the largest being 13-5.

baits: junebug junebug junebug trick worms, senkos, flukes, anything in junebug.

What? Not many reporting lakes from out west. My favorite holes would be in Utah; Lake Powell a.k.a. "America's Playground" or the Flaming Gorge.

Lake Powell is approx. 150 miles long with 2200 miles of rocky shoreline. There is a smallmouth behind every rock and the stripers cruise the open-water. The striper creel limit is unlimited, so you can fill a freezer quick.

Flaming Gorge, about 92 miles long, also has great fishing for smallmouth, due to all the rocky habitat. The cherries are the kokanee salmon though. It doesn't get much better for table quality, and 3-4lb kokanees put up quite the tussel!

I can't believe no one from Kentucky hasn't said Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. They are sister lakes connected by a cannel. Ky Lake is 160 thousand acres of water and Barkley is 59 thousand. They are two of the largest man made lakes in the US. Located in Western Ky and Western Tn. Best fresh water fishing in the country ...over 2 thousand miles of shore line.Ky Lake is 184 miles long.....Thats my kind of fishen hole..
Kylake.com look it up.. there is something there for everyone in the family. I'm lucky to live 30 miles away so I can go all spring, summer, fall and winter.
I perfer to use the Corp of Enginers camp sites to unload ...safe and very clean.
