"Naw" the Decator flats are "well" a little on the gone side since they dredged the crap out of it, but with the main drop off along side of the cowford on the other side of the lake the hybribass anhd channell cats or blue cats will keep you plenti busy if your bait fishing. if your jigging then those strippers and large-mouths will keep you entertained. coming up on another full moon next week, that should get your engine running again.

Another Ohioan here, fish mostly inland lakes like Hoover Reservoir, Alum Creek around Columbus - but occasionally make it up to Lake Erie.

hey from canada , got a little lake up here that we share with some of our us cousins called superior. got to say though the salmon fishing is getting a lot worse the it use to be. 10 years ago caught a 30 pounder, now thats a rarety. i dont care what the ministry of stupity says(MNR) the cormorants have got to go. they are not native to these parts and should be eridecated to the last one or there will be no fishery atall in any of the greatlakes.and when their done there whos next.

5th biggest freshwater lake in the country, Toledo Bend.

Hmmmm.
That would be the 5th largest MAN MADE reservoir in the country.

It covers approx 300 sq miles.

The largest freshwater lakes in the country:
Number 1 is Superior covering 31,820 sq mi
2- Huron 23,010 sq miles
3- Michigan 22,400 sq miles
4- Erie 9,930 sq mi
5- Ontario covers 7,520 sq miles
6- Lake Champlain covers 435 sq miles

Lake Saint Clair 430 sq miles

Lake of the Woods in Minnesota is supposedly 1600 sq miles, but it doesn't show up on any of the lists. Hmmm ?

Great Salt Lake covering 1800 sq miles

My favorite fishing lakes:
Hultman - WI
Wolf River - WI
Franklin - WI
Kentuck - WI
Alley - Ontario CA
Eagle - Ontario CA

Re: What? State/Lake you fish in

I live on the River Raisin in Monroe, MI. Fortunate enough to have one of only about 15 houses in the city that has lake access so my boat is tied up in the front yard 8)

The river dumps into Lake Erie so the western basin of the lake is where I do all of my fishing. I fish for Walleye only usually. Switch over to golf later in the season when they slow down and the perch are hitting. I will take the kids out for some perch jerkin though as the fast action is great for kids.

jc canvas is right about the Erie limits. This is one of the best Walleye years in a real long time. The fish are mostly on the small size this year, 15-20", but that is fine by me as they are the best eating !!!

SE Missouri
I have only had the boat out once since I bought it but went to City Lake in Fredericktown. Not too many boats on the lake and and caught Cats, Crappie, Large Mouths and Rock Bass.

Skeeterboy, I would love to hear "Offline" some of the places you go. I recently moved to the Farmington area and need some resources for good fishing.

Recently moved to Hagerstown, Ind. Several great spots to fish in this area, Summit, Prairie Creek, Martindale, and several small streams and "cricks" around to round up some smallies. However my all time Favorite fishin hole without a doubt is Mississinnawa Reservoir, Peru, Ind. AWESOME!!!
Toledo Bend would be second on that list....

Don't make'm go fishin, offer to takem fishin....

Re: What? State/Lake you fish in

I like to fish in Wheeler Lake, in North Alabama. Any of the Wheeler State Park ramps, or sometimes I'll put in closer to my house in Somerville. I like to fish for striped bass, large mouth and small mouth and all can be caught it Wheeler. I'm just starting to learn to use that fly rod, and then bream are fun too. I guess there really isn't any kind of fish I don't like catching.

I don't mind fishing Lewis Smith lake, but I haven't learned how to fish it very well.

I was surprised to see how many people on this website fish at Wheeler.
