This story really got me fired up the other day. 6-6-06, with conspiracy theories and talk of Satan abound, these two punks defaced a National Shrine to Mary.<br /><br /> Punks <br /><br />

Trevey: "Do you know you spelled Satan wrong?"<br />Groth: "No - I'm not aware of that."<br />Trevey: "You spelled it satin - like the fabric."<br />Groth: "See - if I was big into the devil, I would have spelled it right."<br />Trevey: "Do you think that's funny?"<br />Groth: "That I spelled it wrong? No - I'm a bad speller."

Most of you who arent from here probably don't know what Holy Hill looks like.<br /><br />

After reading the article, it is apparent that they not only sprayed the paint, but the lack of brain cells tells me they must have huffed too much of it. Stupid kids of today don't even care if they are dumb or not. Their actions are shameful to the utmost.

"Satin" seems to be working overtime these days. <br /><br />I don't think they're guilty of a hate crime. Judging by the interview it was nothing more than mindless vandalism. Really Stupid! Sorry to disagree with you guys but these boys seem to have already felt enough hatred in their lives. Something much worse than painting the church is the problem. If it were my day in charge, I would have them meet one day each week with the parishoners of the church, at homes or at church and spent it walking in the ways of Christ.<br /><br />I know this sounds like being soft but just maybe a few days spent with Christians would help this young people out. At least this is what I believe Jesus told us.

I agree with rodbolt (other than the editorial), I would have him provide restitution to the church by performing service for the church. They were the victims. It had to cost over 2K to clean so what is the going rate for a punk? $10.00/hr. So 200hrs of service in the next six months.<br /><br />There is a clear and distinct difference tween vengence and restitution.<br /><br />For those who don't know Holy Hill is like a state treasure, this is equal to painting KKK on a MLK statue in Detroit.

The really sad part is that "Daddy" will probably hire a shyster lawyer (sorry for the redundent discription)and Dad will pay a little fine, the judge will tell the kids not to do it again and justice will be served. The kids learned you can do anything you want if you have a lawyer and act contrite in court.
