What parts do i need for steering?

Hi.,
I Purchased a boat which had the steering cable and wheel already installed but no motor, i purchased a 68 johnson v4 but unsure how to connect the steering. If someone can help i would appreciate it, i have attached photos of the steering cable and the connection on the back of the motor.

The cable you have is a thru tilt tube type for a later model motor than the one you purchased.....that motor is meant to be connected to a cable and pulley type setup.

Yep, you have two different systems going on there, not made for each other

It can be done with modifications, but won't be easy or cheap, and it will never work exactly right. There is a thread here somewhere that covers this topic.....
