Here is bunks under seam between bottom of the boat and the tubes...

And here is the "Transom Saver" attached to rear of trailer frame an leg of OB...

It is all very solid. Since the floor is supported on both sides I have forgone any keel support and I deflate for transport.

Cheers.

Great job
Have you considered adding a steering console to your frame?

Thanks, I haven't looked at a steering console. The primary use of the SIB is fishing and I find it easier for boat control reasons, to stick with a tiller.

It would however be a pretty simple add.

We agreed on a 15ft with a 30hp moter - in all probability Yamaha. EVERYONE uses Yamaha on the island it seems. Not surprising as they have an outlet on SVG.

Which material will you be using to build that 15 footer ? Wooden, alum or it's a custom inflatable model ?

Bequia-Fishing-Boats.jpgthe design will be based on a typical fishing boat used by the fishermen of Bequia (pronoun. beck-way). the red one in the foreground is a good example. btw- every motor you see in the photo is a yamaha.
he wanted to do a 17ft originally, but that would be too big to store at home. it is not an inflatable.

he is spec'ing:
marine ply for the clinkers, pine for the gunnels and ribs i think, cherrywood for a use i can't remember and a wood unique to st v, greenheart, a particularly dense and obviously heavy wood (we use it at where i work as the slats in in our pallet bays) for the keel. all joints caulked & grp'd and a layer or two of epoxy. final coat to my colour choice, plus cleats. storage space under the foredeck.

fishing rod holders will be built in, as will the bimini shade; there's a sailmaker who'll make it for me, i hope.
