That's it, I am flyin' over, driving to Cumbria and we're heading to Edinburgh for some real whisky drinking. Can't see any other way out of this . . . :D

we gotta stop before we get poofed: so back on topic there is a little known whisky brewed in Yorkshire of all places and it is lethal! Unfortunately every time I drink it I cannot later remember the name of it

You two give me this picture; two scruffy salty dogs, 3 sheets to the wind, arm in arm, bottle in hand, singin' on old tune as you stagger down the pier :) <br />You guys rock!

Thanks Mags.<br /><br />Stan,<br /><br />If I ever get back there we're going to the Grassmarket for exactly what Mags describes. Although it is a LONG stagger to a pier . . . :D

Aye, it would have to be Leith I reckon, Portobello beach doesn't have one that I remember.<br /><br />That Yorkshire whisky I was talking about is a single but its clear and very easy to drink: just don't try using your legs for 24 hours :D

Isn't Dimple a blend?
Good Question, Aldo. (and members) I still haven't found Dimple at any of my local retailers.<br />I would think that at the price it would be single malt and well aged.
At last I understand our differences. It couldn't be possible that a blend could become somebodys' favorite if...

Lagavulin is my absolute favorite, Oban is also very nice, and Talisker too. 30 year Laphroig was the best I've ever had, but I only had one shot... that was all I could afford!

I had some Absinthe once: spent a week drinking it. I noticed though that every time I broke wind I sounded like an outboard motor. I finally went to the doctor and he asked what I'd been eating/drinking. When I told him he simply turned and said.......<br /><br />"Ah, absinthe makes the fart grow honda"<br /><br /> I'll get me coat........

Aargh! :D <br /><br />Wierdest thing with absinthe is, I didn't feel drunk until I had a glass of water. Then I fell over.<br />probably my own fault for drinking neat 85% spirits...
