What is this

this is on the fin on the lower unit. I don't know what it is or its purpose. Any ideas?

looks like a torque tab. might be causing your hard pull to the right your other post mentioned

Your pic does not enlarge. That is the skeg. is i cracked?

Jimmbo. It is facing the same why the trim tab is. Think it may be a problem. It looks like it is supposed to help.

Looks like someone broke the skeg off and added some kind of junk to it rather than replaceing the LU housing or getting a weld on replacment skeg.

It is a T&H Marine torque tab.....

How do you come up that Sh$t?

35 plus years of turning wrenches and racing outboards.... Mariner 25 what is your model number as you could have the XL and if lower unit is too deep in water torque can be a bear..
