what is the max rpm

range of a 81 evinrude 235? had it out today and was turning close to 6000 with a little throttle left. was reluctant to take it any higher. the tach maxes out at 7k. thanks!

Some power packs have no speed limiter, is it an OMC PP?

Also depends how its propped and the style hull.

6000 is OK for a big bore crossflow but you're looking for 6K at wide open. Not near wide open with a little throttle left. 5800 would be even better. I'd bet you could pick up some performance with a little more prop bite.
