Yes, with caveat, there will be no issue so long as nothing shorts out. My guess is nothing will. You will know if there is a problem by a big a$$ spark when wires connect together, little spark is ok ;)

To clean all the contacts is about 2 hours of work with a wire brush and sand paper. You are focused on two of potentially 20 connections.

I would start now, and be done in 2 hours or less

Gee, wire the bilge pump directly to the battery, thru a small inline fuse if you have one. A bilge pump, even if it shorts out shouldn't cause a fire, unlike other stuff on a boat. Also, they are often directly connected to the battery, whereas the rest of the stuff on the boat is always fused to prevent fires. Don't jumper or bypass the breaker. Breakers are there to protect us.

Upon closing up I think I confirmed the breaker needs to be replaced. When I hold the reset red button in everything works as long as the button is held in and when I let the button go ...nuttin.

Replace with a marine-rated circuit breaker. They should last longer in the marine environment and should be spark protected.

I planned on getting a dupe of what I'm taking off. I assume it's marine?? Look at the pic. although the back was open which I assume marine would be closed .Charlie

The pic in pot 2 is a marine rated breaker and is used by VP, Merc and others. Can find them in a lot of places
