Re: What is faster?
The cavalier is a total yawn mobile, V6 or not. It is also front wheel drive, if the driver isn't careful, he'll just make smoke as weight transer will unload his driven wheels. The Ranger is debatable. If the turbo was installed properly and not just hacked in, if he has airbag suspension that could be dialed in as far as height goes, maybe. If it is just a hack job lowrider that has no suspension, then probably not. Back in my lowrider days I had an 88 Isuzu extended cab with a 2.5 four banger. I lowered it for performance, still had full suspension, did a lot of tweaking of that little four banger, and that truck hauled arse. I had dreams of swapping in an Impulse turbo four, it was the same motor with a turbo, but that never happened. I certainly would have torn up a Cavalier as it was. I used to kill my buddy in his early 90s V6 Firebird (why would someone get that car with the V6?)all the time. I wouldn't count the Ranger out, but odds are what will happen on race day is the Cavalier will smoke off the line, and wind its way up the track, and the Ranger will probably not shift properly and will lose the race due to driver inexperience and/or crappy turbo/suspension setup. But hey, they'll have fun trying....
