@skibrain, I've seen pics of those dyna-skis before. I always wondered about how well they tracked in a course being as though they are on a smaller/lighter hull. I know that I could feel our family 17' bass boat move when I cut hard on the slalom just skiing for recreation.

I forgot the other feature I would want -- value and a good price point!

I had one of the first Malibu Skiers in the southern US back in the day. It was not an unreasonably priced boat. Today's Malibu's, holy cow!

So what kind of price point are we talking? You going to come in at a similar price to a Moomba, or going Malibu / Mastercraft land?

Kudos to you for having he kahunas to launch with $5 buck gas coming!

I can't wait to hear more and see a line up!

I would definitely drive over to WI and ski behind one before putting any money down. I am pretty sure they have tracking fin/s under the pylon. Again, this wouldn't be a course boat for me. A lighter boat is easier on the body too. :) That they hang three big-block outboards on the transom of the Dyna-Ski 20' for show skiing tells me they are a pretty solid rig.

hey mate, starting price would be in the $40,000 I would expect which would include export and dealer costs in the usa, I think our most expensive would expect to retail at around $70,000 which is allot of boat for your money. Its just getting everything up off the ground here. I wouldn't be expecting to enter the us market until next summer if we do manage to get started.

How big is your direct drive? Just judging by the pic and the step over bow, you're probably in a pretty similar class to Malibu's Response LX. For those that want a smaller DD and don't mind the step over, the Response LX has a pretty great reputation already in terms of wake/boat quality and I bet wouldn't be much more than $40k for a new one if you get a decent deal. You can get one only a year or two old for low-mid 30's (and I don't think they sell very well, I've been looking at a lot of the same listings for a while now). Eg: http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Comp_Boat&postid=17409 . So I imagine your price would have to be pretty competitive with that kind of model. I'm not sure if 40 base plus options would work or not.

For ski boats, there is a lot of discussion that might help you here:

I can tell you I was recently in the market and if there had been a player with a boat that could be had at a price that begins with a 3 that had a reasonable set of skiiing focused options (ie not bare bones, but pretty lean), I would have given it a lot of consideration, especially if the reputation for the wakes was good at longer lines. It would still have been a tough choice though between that and a pretty well maintained & optioned used boat from one of the big 3. I'd have been looking for a true walk through though so it's a little more usable with the family. I was really looking at a Moomba Outback initially but those prices are creeping up too and by the time it was over $40-42k (which doesn't take much in the way of options) it just didn't make sense compared to a promo boat. I eventually settled in the mid-30's on a really well optioned, low hours 3 year old boat.

On your v-drive, does that rear compartment only open from the platform? Hard to tell from the pic but looks like it might be that way. That would be a big turn off to me. It's bad enough on something like the Response LX but that's a ski-from-the-dock type boat so you might not need to get to the storage all that often. On a v-drive that's a lot different if you're out on the water all day.

okie dokies, Thanks heaps for your comments and lets see if I can answer a few for you. :D
Firstly, all bow riders are full walk through entry, no climb overs. The photos I put up are quite old. the series 3 has had a LOT of improvements.

Secondly, yes in that photo the hatch does only open from the platform. A three piece hatch cover is being finalised now with access to both side storage when required individually.

thirdly, I would honestly hazard a guess with shipping and dealer fees a closed bow direct drive boat, All would have a stereo, bimini, etc etc, would retail @ around 37ish........maybe less. it all depends on shipping and other options, If we were to go ahead and ship them on cradles with a trailer fit out in the states, plus container shipping on cradles we could probably get them down to low 30's + trailer. the pricing is all hypothetical right now, But I wouldn't think a closed bow would sell as well as an open bow with full walk through??
This again is all speculative but we are looking into it as anything to boost business would be great.
