I have a 1987 25 hp Johnson 2 stroke that I just bought, it runs great but has a bit of white smoke form the exhaust that I figure is normal however there is also water blowing out the ports is this normal, or is there a problem

Sounds normal. some exhaust gas and some water coming from the relief ports on the leg.
Should have a tell tale peeing out water too. rear starboard corner of the lower motor cover.
But check it is not overheating as it is easy to confuse steam with exhaust gas. You should be able to keep a finger on the cylinder head for 2or 3 seconds and it should not sizzle if you splash some water on it

i mean ther are two small exhaust ports or holes at the back of the shaft where there is a spray of water coming out, i have put my hand there and it is water, i just didn't know if this is normal and the impeller seems ok as there is a steady stream of water coming out
