What does that knob do?

I am borrowing an Evinrude E10RCUE, 9.9 H.P. outboard motor from my dad.
There is a knob right next to the choke pull knob that adjusts something as you rotate it. What does this knob adjust and what technique is used to adjust it properly?
The icon next to the knob implies that when you rotate it CCW you get more and CW gets you less.
Help.

Sounds like a late model verses the older models with the high and low speed needle adjustment.

I'm going with a tightener for the steering or throttle. All I gotta say is; If it ain't broke... don't screw with Dads motor until ya ask him!

I asked him but he's 87 yyears old and can't remember alot.
The knob goes thru the motor housing and into a cover that is probably over the carb. I figured it was maybe an idle adjustment or something such as that. The motor is 10 - 15 years old at most.
Thanks

I found out that it is the low speed adjustment.
I just need to know how to adjust it.
All it does is turn CW or CCW.

Check out the "top secret file" in the "sticky" section at the top of this forum. Look for "How do I adjust my carbs" The first procedure in the list is the one you want.

Cheers...............Todd
