i tow an 18ft runabout with my 1986 trans am. tows pretty well too. a lot of weird looks and comments though. Ive actually had random people at the launch ramp video tape me pulling out the boat. lol

My step-brother used to do that. One day he forgot to lock something down right, and he stopped and the trailer rolled up on top of the car. I bet that was funny to see, although probably not funny to him.

something like that happened with our honda oddesey
my father backed the sailboat onto two pieces of firewood we were using as makeshift chocks
when he tried to take the boat off of the hitch it flew foward and chopped off the tip of his index finger
but he got it surgically reattached luckily (for $35,000!! thank goodness for health insurance)

I tow with a 97 Mercury Mountaineer.

Features are...

All time all wheel drive

302 CID 5.0l V8 with 295 hp and 310 lb ft torque <with custom power mods>
4r70w Auto trans with O/D
2 trans coolers in line.
Aux trans filter installed on remote mount <under front bumper>

This SUV is a beast! Can tow around a 6k trailer altho i have only towed up to 3300 lbs with it as the hitch i use is the factory bumper hitch, a class II rated hitch good for 350/3500.

What i tow is a 1986 Mastercrafter rajin cajun 2 with a 150 hp mariner v6. Max tow weight is about 2000 lbs.

Dodge RAM 2500 4x4 Diesel - no issues pulling a 14' Aluminum except that I can't see the boat or trailer most of the time.

Only chiming in because I get questioned about my choice of tow vehicle at the ramp quite a bit.

I'm pulling my 19.5' Bayliner Cuddy with a Hyundai Santa Fe. Some people have asked me how it does. . .the load is right near the limit of the vehicle's rated capacity. A good weight-distributing hitch, the right ball height for balance, a V6 Santa Fe with AWD. . .I've pulled that thing through the hills of PA with the a/c cranked and the cruise control on!

well if I am feeling adventurous, I have pulled my boat with my 66' Galaxy 500 2 door convertible. With the 352 in it, it pulls like a champ though the rear suspension is not what it use to be. The first owner(my grandfather) has pulled '4 horse' horse trailers across country with it multiple times in the past, even backed them up steep grades. Its quite funny though to see a 66 blue convertible hooked up to a 77 blue boat,
the rest of the time the boat stays behind my f150

2002 dodge neon, auto. pulls my 76 glastron 16' kinda nicely. it hates hills. both up and down!!! but i still get 22mpg towing

I say go big or go home. I pull my 73 28' safari with a crew cab f600. we get a lot of compliments on the tow rig at the ramp. I have added air conditioning and stereo sytem.

1994 Ford Ranger 4WD extended cab pulling a 1995 SeaDoo Speedster.

I'm looking into having a hitch installed on my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo so the whole fam can fit in one vehicle.

I pull both my 16ft bayliner, and my 24ft fiberform with my 1999 ford explorer, it does a fine job at it.

We have a 1984 21 foot proline cuddy towed by 1999 ford ranger 4X4 4.0 does good but sucks the gas.

Just kidding had the ranger when we got the boat but traded it in for any
F350 love the truck will be looking for a slide in camper some day
