WHat color odf pin striping?

I have a 1987 Evinrude 225hp and I am trying to find out what color is the pin stripping on the mid section right above the lower unit is. Check the pic.



It is made up of three colours. Back ground color, top stripe, bottom stripe. All the pics I find online are not clear enough to tell. Also some sizes would be nice. The colors I am looking for are only from 1987 and 1988. After and before those years evinrude changed them. If anyone have a evinrude motor from these two years reguardless of the motor size (6hp to 300hp, not xp modles) the color is the same. Any possiblity of a pic.

The color stripe on my 1988 40, is dark blue. Probably NLA from the dealer, but you could buy pinstripe tape from an autobody supply. Just went out and looked, there is actually two stripes, the top one is about 3/16 " wide, then a space about 1/8". The second one 7/16" wide. Years ago I had to replace one side, I just made my own. What paint system did you use?

I am using Evinrude dealer paint. It is a bit expensive. $10 a can but it is the right colour. Are you planning on a paint job yourself? I am actually liking this paint. I is a bit thin compared to a rustolium product but it sure has a ton of metalic flake in it.

I tried the dealer paint once and the color match wasn't even close. But would have been ok if I was painting the whole motor. A few years ago repainted the geargase, used epoxy primer and aycrilic enamel. Did the pinstriping info help at all?

Yes the info did help. Just one more question. Does the stripes match the blue in the graphics? Thinking of just taping of the stripes and painting them with the same paint as the blue on the hood. What do you think?

I had my pin stripes and graphics done on vinyl by a local shop. This is the same stuff used on vehicle wraps and it has held up fine.
