What can I use to clean lower unit

My lower unit is full with gunk, what could I clean the plate with and down inside lower unit? Is there some kinda spray i can use?

If it's just soft gunk I have had good success with Westly's Bleach white tire cleaner; don't put water on it first, just spray and let it sit for a few minutes the3n spray it off.
