My iPod scares people the selection is so varied. Everything from Gordon Lightfoot to Eminem. I'm a big music lover and somehow find an appreciation in most styles.

My all time go to band though would be The Tragically Hip

I see that Pink Floyd came in 20 in the top 100 albums ever. This was on MTV??? (I think).

"Wish you were here" followed by "The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking" (David Gilmore) is an amazing contrast.

"Anamals" is what your listen to when you did not get the job (LOL!)

"Dark side of the Moon" is for when you are ready to relax and not think about anything......

Another good album is the one with the green/black cover that has the disk jocky theme running through it..... Can't remember the album title. Rather interesting. If not entertaining. Turn it up.

'

dark side of the moon was on billboards top 200 album list for an unprecedented 650 ish weeks....it was knocked off for two weeks during Christmas time due to a flood of new albums coming out by top pop artists. but re appeared....and sat back on the list for another 100 ish weeks.
that is just incredible.

just for the guys information.

after the beatles......
it is very rare for any band to make an epic album....one that lasts for over 20 years with almost every cut getting constant ariplay and monster sales.

the eagles hotel california is one.
boston first album.
u2 joshua tree.
acdc
zepplin did it with #4...stairway to heaven....
carol king tapestry

Re: What are your favorite albums or cuts?

I had an aircard for internet, up until a few weeks ago. Because of bandwidth limitations and speed issues, I really couldn't listen to music online much. Now that I have DSL, I have been on youtube quite a bit, finding artists that are new to me. One of my favorites is a young Austrailian by the name of Joe Robinson. He is mostly an instrumentalist, but he does have a pleasing voice as well. He is also about 19 years old.

Here are a couple of videos that display his considerable talents. I'm also quite impressed with the bassist that he has been working with. Joe was in Nashville making a CD, when this performance occurred. Both the bassist (Bernard Harris) and the drummer (Marcus Hill) came to him as session players for the recording. Of particular note in regard to the bassist, is that he plays a right handed bass, left handed. He has also left the string orientation in the right handed configuration. Finally, he uses piccolo strings, which give the instrument and different sound than a standard bass.
