I have always been a big fan of Pink Floyd. Long time classic techno rock music. So I have to rate my favorites like this:

1 Wish your were here (pink floyd)
2 Dark side of the moon ( pink floyd)
3 AC/DC (High Voltage, Greatest Hits)
4 Yellow Brick Road
5 Pink, Mzundersood. (she is young, but very good)
6 A bunch of Robert Palmer albums.
7 A bunch of Annie Lennox albums.
8 Lots of other great music that will take me too long to list. :D

Tenacious D !

Seriously, the list is so long, varies by type of music, mood, environment, ....

Today I listened to an hour of each, The Hollies, Joe Walsh, Tangerine Dream, and Sugarland.

Life of Illusion was playing on my headphones this morning when I read this. Also have tracks from the others you listed as well.

Sittin' around the house: either Icarus, Borne on Wings of Steel or The Wall by Kansas (not Pink Floyd).

Cruisin' down the highway: Train, Train by Blackfoot (at full volume).

Re: What are your favorite albums or cuts?

Yup, way too many to list, but to give an idea what I enjoy

Billy Squire
Joe Walsh, James Gang, Eagles
Three Dog Night
Foghat
Doors
Creedence
Doobie Brothers
Floyd
Styx
BOC
Heart

Todays music seems to all sound the same,,,just don't care much for it. One of the things that erks me is calling a singing group a band. To me a "Band" is a group that plays their own instruments and does their own vocals. Now that takes pure talent in my opinion.

I too have very varied tastes. Mostly I like a well used Piano.
If I was to choose one, and one only, for my favorite, it would be Bruce Springsteen Born to Run. From first song to last, my favorite album.

I could've guessed your list Skargo. You need to find some mellower sweeter melodies. You don't need those boys to fire you up :p  Love you man :)

My likes are too varied for this. I personally love singer songwriter guitarists:

Paul McCartney
David Pack
James Taylor
Kevin Gilbert
Keith Urban
Lindsey Buckingham
Eric Clapton

Long list, but I think that would be my absolute fav type of performer. I love the somewhat lost "progressive rock" groups:

Genesis
Yes
Ambrosia (favorite "band")
Kansas

And I like a lot of pop stuff too . . .

And always, always The Beatles. They started all of this stuff if you ask me. Yes, there are others, but The Beatles changed the landscape.

I'm usually listening to the latest episode of A State of Trance with Armin Van Buuren but in the spirit of iBoats I'll humbly suggest "Songs You Know By Heart" by Jimmy Buffett.

Re: What are your favorite albums or cuts?

I am getting old, the last good band worth listening to was "The Eagles". :)

I don't know - I was thinking Mendelssohn

Funny part for me is I got totally hooked on a Neil Diamond collection a couple of weeks ago - dude's an amazing vocalist when you pay attention to it.

All I posted were my favorite rock bands. I love the Blues, and MANY other kinds of music as well. Those I posted I grew up with, but I could give you a punk list, a "grunge" list, a modern rock list, a blues list, an easy listening list, etc. I have a wide and varied interest in music, with the exception if gangsta rap and country.

Re: What are your favorite albums or cuts?

I see that Pink Floyd came in 20 in the top 100 albums ever. This was on MTV??? (I think).

"Wish you were here" followed by "The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking" (David Gilmore) is an amazing contrast.

"Anamals" is what your listen to when you did not get the job (LOL!)

"Dark side of the Moon" is for when you are ready to relax and not think about anything......

Another good album is the one with the green/black cover that has the disk jocky theme running through it..... Can't remember the album title. Rather interesting. If not entertaining. Turn it up.
