I was at wallyworld today and looked at some pellet air rifles while I was there. One brand had a photo of a large Brown Bear on the front of the box! I hope nobody's stupid enough to shoot one w an airgun! Why would the company do this? I'm baffled

Maybe some use them to shoo bears away from homes or camps? I would think it would just make them mad and possibly want to attack the unarmed shooter! or they'ed just think it was a beesting and have little reaction at all. I think a good semi auto paintball gun would be better to shoo bears away from homes or camps, than a single shot airgun and alot more fun too!!

Sounds like a lawsuit in the making, "little Johnny shoots grizzly with pellet gun, bear eats little Johnny, dad sues, holding box with bear photo on front"....give it some time, it'll happen!

Judging from what I can tell from my son, those Airsoft Pellets are the perfect munitions for defeating bears, spies and terrorists. Much more capable than I would have given them credit for.

Interesting. When I was a lad the weapon of choice was the ninja throwing star. Of course, we didn't have terrorists in Jonesboro, Arkansas. No bears either save the toothless old grizzly at Craighead Forest park.

Do not try under any circumstances try to shoot a bear in the ars with this toy. It might angry and take toy and insert it into your ars. Wallie world is not responsible for anyones stupidity"

You cant get them at Walmart... but air rifles have come a long way since you were a kid. Check them out. I wouldn't try to kill a bear but you can kill some pretty good size game. Crazy stuff.

Mommicked said they have em at wallie. I bet you can get a powerful one at sporting goods store. Leave it to us guys on iboats to soup up an air gun to take down a bear! If its possible its possible here!

I didn't phrase that so well... I know that wally world sells basic air guns. Folks were funnin about shooting a bear, I was amazed when i first saw this newer type of high power ones at Cabela's a few years ago.

A friend of mine has a high tech airgun that has a compressed air cylinder onboard that you have filled at a Dive shop? or industrial gas co? It cost more than alot of nice conventional rifles and is very powerfull. It can shoot alot of times on one charge and has a guage to tell you when it needs to be recharged.I forget who makes it. But I wouldn't shoot a bear w any of them, I'm biased though, I am not interested in killing one, I've been thrilled just to see them occasionally when I'm in bear habited areas here. I was invited on a bear hunt a few years ago, but I politely passed. "Ninja throwing star", " You'll put your eye out"!!!!

They have a couple days only here in Eastern Kentucky that someone can go bear hunting. I have never been, but I would if I had the offer.

Only way to take the shot at the bear is from your boat... with engine running.

WOW! That was wild! Yeah they were about to get tore up! Glad they had a gun with em! If i didn't know any better I would not have shot at the water, I would have shot the bear!

A full on charge from a full size bear. Lucky that guy was calm, and lucky for the bear he shot into the water, and not into the bear! Holy begesus all I would do is poo myself, and hope the bear don't like poopy meat!
