What are the issues with Larson boats? I just learned that their boats are woodless. I'm doing some research on the VEC but wanted to see what the issues are with Larson? I saw one thread where the guy had the wrong hull on his Larson, but i think his scenario was 1/1000000.

Re: What are the issues with Larson boats?

I have heard that Larson makes a very nice boat. I know that a dealer over in Wenatchee rents them out for a season or two and then sells them pretty cheap. Not sure if you want to go that route though as it is kind of like buying a used rental car, you do not know if some bozo took the boat out and just beat on it for a day. Other than that, I have heard they make a good quality boat. Not sure who the dealer is over in Seattle though.

Larson has made good boats for a long time.

As with any boat current condition is all about how well the boat was maintained. The brand is less important.

Rating the three Genmar runabout brands would go something like this:

1. Four Winns ***
2. Larson **
3. Glastron *

This rating would be based on price point (standard ammenities) when the boats were new. The Larson and Glastron brands are very similar in build quality and hull structure. Larson is just a slight step up in ammenities.
