New guy, 1st boat, picking it up Saturday. I have been hunting for a boat for a while now, and found this gem about 30 minutes away from me.

1984 Winner Bass Boat w/ 90hp Johnson, 40lb Minn Kota. I think it will be an awsome boat to learn with. I am going to have to put new springs and tires on the trailer, and do alot of cleaning on the carpet and hull, but it is a very solid boat and no soft spots.

If anyone can give me any advice on the boat, I would appreciate it.

I can tell you that 90 Johnson is bullet proof as I had one on a 16' ski boat that me and my brother ran it full throttle all day everyday for years, never flushed it as it stayed in salt water and changed the lower unit fluid one time in 8 years, without any major issues, and as far as a winner should be solid

just make sure your wiring and fuel lines are good and she should last anther 30 years

good luck

I use a product called poliglow.com Awesome product that will make your boat shine and the paint look new. It is only designed for fiberglass and it lasts more than a year. No buffing or waxing. You'll make your boat brand new. I have a 1950 series 1986 winner. These boats take a pounding and keep on...Enjoy. Also like was said, "check your wiring". Make sure it's in good shape. Welcome aboard
