Re: Wellcraft 202 nova spyder repower

what is the exhaust tube? where can i find it?
But i have a question...i had the exhaust below for many years and never sliped it. I am wondering if i am doing something wrong.
Shall i put some adhesive in it? And if yes, how long shall i wait until to put the below on?

The exhaust tube is now the replacement for the original bellows.
It is secured on the transom side only.
Available at your local Mercruiser dealer.
If you use the bellows, use adhesive on the bellows.
How long do you wait on the adhesive?
Read the adhesive package.

The tube part number from MerCruiser is (78458A1)
It's much easier to install, And in some cases you will have better performance out of the boat using this tube.;)
(78458A1')TUBE, Exhaust, Click on the second part number (12) down, It has a photo of it in this link. http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...424.png&inbr=10269&bnbr=90&bdesc=Bell+Housing

Or you could use Mercruisers, (92-86166) Bellows Adhesive Glue 18-9031 2oz.

The below "heard" that i am going to put exhaust tube instead of the below and it seems to be "terified"......i re-put the below and after about 4-hours everything seems to be perfect. I left the boat in full trim position to test it. But as i can see, this time is much better as the clamp is in better position and not at the edge of the bell flange (has about 5mm till the edge).
I beleive that i will install this time the transom shower and take some photos of my project.

I will post again as soon as i will put everything inside and also photos of inside my previous damaged engine when i opened it.
I hope that it will run very nice with about +90hp than previous. You see the boat has great hull (22deg) fot it's size and i expect the best. I hope you like it. At the right of the engine there is the water tank i put for the transom shower i also installed.
Thank you again!!

Re: Wellcraft 202 nova spyder repower

Let me ask you one more question.....My boat has a normal rectangular fuel tank of about 152lt. I have already put a Royce fuel sender (33-240ohm) -Smartcraft compatible. Concerning the calibration....i have to put the tank capacity and then to hit the default at the fuel tank calibration screen? Is this correct?...i am asking just because the tank has now about 15liters and i can not make the calibration method...det the empty....set the 1/4....set 1/2 etc...
Will it work properly with my way?

Re: Wellcraft 202 nova spyder repower

Well.....here are some pics from my old engine. It is now damaged, and that is why i decided to repower my boat. It was a 350LX 4bbl MY1993 with about 520hrs. The damage was made after i used some fuel additive and while i was on WOT travelling with about 58-59mph on speedo.....
Finally do you think that the additive was the cause of the damage or could you imagine something else?

Ayuh,.... I'd guess the additive knocked loose some Crap somewhere between the tank,+ carb,...
Plugging the jets in the carb, causing a Lean condition,+ detonation induced Melt-Down....

Re: Wellcraft 202 nova spyder repower

Hello again, after about 2years......
Well everything till now is just perfect with the new engine and i had no problem till yesterday. Everything run ok , cruising with 32Mph but as i scrolled the smartcraft screens, i saw that the water pressure was VERY LOW at about 0,00-0,02 bar=0 - 0,3psi! The engine temp was totaly correct 71oC steady. I tried to 45mph and the water pressure raised to 0,10bar=1,45psi. Then back again to 30mph and the water pressure falled again to 0 - 0,01bar while the engine temp was steady at 71oC. The engine has 130hours,...and i think that as the temperature was ok, then the impeller works fine and so the water pressure sensor might be faulty. What do you think? The smartcraft even when the reading was 0,00 bar, did not make a bip or any alarm. I thing that the water pressure sensor is mounted on the power steering cooler. Am i correct? Can you please give me the part number and how can i change it? I am asking just because the boat is in the sea and i want to be sure about the tools i will need.
Thank you very much,...
