great job bonair! motor sounds real good. ( amazing how something as simple as a sparkplug can cause issues that mimick other problems)

Yup. Thanks for suggesting that I check my plugs.

Of course, the 'water not pumping issue' caused me to drop my lower unit 5 different times. The first few times were to get the water flowing. The next 2 times were because I forgot the "O ring" on top of the shaft and then I forgot to put the grommet back on the pump housing. :facepalm:

The good news is that I can now drop a lower unit and have it back on (including shift linkage bolt) in under 10mins.

Also I wish you were here to help me change my impeller....got me a new knee in October so I dreed pulling the lower off for my three year pump mantainace.
