Hi all I Would like to add a pressure gauge to a 84 merc 200 black max, I was wondering if it would be ok to put a T in the tale tale or if I needed to do something different, thank you

Nope!... There is a plug in the top of the block. The gauge kit should come with fittings and reducers and instructions on where to fit the pick up point.... But the telltale is NOT the place.
Chris..........
(Best accessory you can put on an outboard )
Where it can be connected is very engine dependent. On some engines it works fine "T'd" into the tell tale. On others it isn't. It is the simplest installation so try it.
The pressure gauge is a "must have" in my own personal opinion. Glance at it while running and not having to worry about turning and looking for the tell tale which is difficult on the mercury. It will show you if something is wrong way before the tell tale and overheating.
