1976 19.5 feet Doral wide beam, deep V run about.
1976 Johnson 200HP (more like 180HP today)
Old top speed in hot weather with light load 44 mph @ 5100rpm
Minimum cruise without creating a wake 28 mph @ 3800rpm
Removed 700lbs of water logged foam, water logged deck and trapped water.

now 54 mph top speed @ 5500rpm with an old SS OMC 23 pitch prop.
Reduce planing time in half, and it corners on rails.
New minimum cruise 20 mph @ 2700rpm and efficient cruise at 4000rpm 40mph

What's your results?
I just can't believe the gains in performance for the amount of money spent to repair...

I know its not much of a boat but it getts me out on the water but I got my 89 one owner bayliner capri and I got it will water loged floors and some foam so i pulled the floors and the wet foam and repaired it now after all that the boat will do 32mph on a calm day and from what I have read thats what it did for speed new. Befor the boat only would do like 27 lol so I guess I'm doing ok.

What size boat and how much weight in water have you removed ? If you don't have the exact number, maybe an estimate.

a 5 mph gain isn't bad at all, that is close to my gain in terms of percentage. My guess would be 450 lbs of water removed from your boat.

Also what motor do you have on it ?

If you have a chance to get a 75 or even an 85-90HP on that thing, it will fly.
At 32 mph your boat is still very wetted. With just a 75HP it will do 40MPH+ because the hull will become efficient and not stay on the water so much.

Moved the fuel tank from the bow to the back/middle of the boat.
went 56mph GPS today with the new stainless Apollo 13 7/8 X 23 pitch prop @ 5200rpm !!
Talk about a low prop slip number. Way less prop slip but I now have a little too much prop for this motor.
It will go faster with a 21 pitch of the same brand in my opinion.

This prop bites the water a lot harder and is cupped more aggressively than my old OMC stainless prop of the same pitch.
The steering torque is now pretty bad at full throttle.

Cruising is not as good as the old OMC stainless prop (more RPM needed for the same speed, prop slip at cruise)

BUT I can now raise my engine, I can fully trim without ever blowing out which means engine has to go up. I'll have to add a water pressure gauge to be sure.

There ain't much of the 19.5 Feet wide body deep V hull left in the water at 56 mph. I have a video of the boat filmed by my buddy and there is about 2 inches of V bottom in the water at the back at the driver area it is barely touching the water.

Chine walk happens if you don't drive it to counter lol...
