water in oil

hi guys need some help, just traded my car for a 1988 capri bayliner omc 2.3l wnet to start her up after setting for about month and found water in the oil. when i went to start the engine i gott some back fire then she ran for about 30 sec. shut it down and pulled rocker to check for stuck valve and found milky oil. is this engine a lost or can she be repaired. thanks for your help Chris

How good was the car that you traded???

Most engine problems can be fixed. It is a matter of cost, etc.

Is the oil level raising on the dipstick? A frozen cracked engine block is common if the engine wasn't drained. Problem is, there are almost no parts for the 2.3L engine. OMC was the only company to use them, and that only lasted a few years. Oh, OMC also went out of business in 98 to make matters worse.

Check with www.seaway.com ask for Jody. He carries alot of aftermarket OMC GM parts. Dont tell him Larry sent you because it wont help a bit...:cool:

thanks for you help that service bulletin was great. ill be draining all the oil changing filter checking if there is water in the pistons.
