Just picked the boat up (four winns 234, 2005, V-P 5.7 osi, composite outdrive) from repair work. Fuel pump burned out due to water in the tank. They pulled 12-13 gals out of tank and of that about 8 gallons per them was water.

The last time I filled up was about 2 yrs ago (before E-10 available) and had Stabil in. Any ideas on how that much water was in tank besides sabotage?

Re: water in fuel tank

Ok so I had the same cronic water in fuel tank issue which drove me nuts. Here's where it was: My deck fill I assumed was at fault, it was leaking around the deck fill between fiberglass and the stainless under gunwale during a rain, and my top hose clamp to the deck fill was loose allowing water to run into the tank via hose. Not inside deck cap, around it. Tightened the clamp and sealed the outside with 5200. BINGO.
