engine, WT model 5.7 GS SN is 4110179640, v-p XS-M outdrive sn4112058557.
problem. replaced tstat with new, now not getting any water out the the transom of outdrive, on muffs. ran great last weekend. 160 degrees. i need ideas. i the outboard guy, not i/o.

another question. i know it has the circulating pump of the block, but does it also have an impeller in the lower, as like a seawater pump. it is an open cooling system, salt water, flushed religiously.

Ayuh,... That's what I thought.......
And I really don't do Volvos, But I'll give it a crack til Don finds this...

Did the T-Stat get put in Right-side Up,..??..??

And,... If you Don't see a Raw Waterpump mounted to the Motor,....
There's got to be 1 in the Outdrive....

The sea water pump is crankshaft mounted on that engine, That would be the first thing I would check.
What usually happens is the impeller gets vanes all bent over that don't straighten out and on muffs won't pull water up to the pump, in the water it would probably work.

that was my thought, i'm going this by phone, as i'm in Jax, the boat's in Ormond. the stupid thing started working this morning. it's going to have to go to the shop, as someone previously bugger the bolts on the belt bracket.
