Water drainage after wash down

I just purchased a 2004 Q3 w/ 90hp Merc O/B, and after doing the test run in saltwater I had to rinse the whole boat down. Well my issue is that the water used to spray down the inside of the boat stays inside the boat, not the mention the aft seating storage compartments fill with water. I find it odd that there is no drain hole in storage or self bailing feature for the cabin. I had 2-3 inches of water in the battery compartment.... I know the gas tank in directly below the seating but is there some way to install a floor drain and drains in the storage? I really don't want to shop-vac the water out everytime I go out.

I have a 2001 q3 and noticed the same thing after cleaning it and what not. I was a bit alarmed as well but used a shop vac to clean it. If you find out a way to create a drain take some pictures and share :-D . Once I get some nice weather I will look to resolve this issue on by boat as well .

Re: Water drainage after wash down

Well, I emailed Tahoe and they told me to drill holes in my boat and use a push style drain.....? I have decidied to carefully drill the two holes and apply silicone around the hole. I will then install a flush mount screw down louvered vent which I also intend to seal down with silicone and will use stainlees screws to secure in place. I have seen several different manufactures use this or something very similar to this as drains on there boats. I purchased the louvered vents from West Marine. The product is made by "PERKO" and is called a locker ventilator. I know West Marine is not the cheapest place in town, but there customer service at my local store is great so I didn't mind paying a little more than I should have.
