Water cooling

WANT TO FIND OUT DO I NEED TO HAVE THE WATER DEFLECTORS PUT BACK IN AROUND THE CYLINDERS OF A JOHNSON 35 HP, AND IF SO HOW FAR ARE THEY TO GO IN. ALSO HAVE REPLACED THERMOSTAT AND ADDED THE SPRING AND RETAINER RING THAT WAS NOT THERE WHEN I TORE THE HEAD APART- NEW THERMO BOUNCED AROUND AND DID NOT SEAT UNTIL I PUT THE SPRING IN. (ALSO NEW WATER PUMP) MY PROB IS IM NOT GETTING A STREAM OUT THE PEE HOLE, WATER DOES COME OUT BUT FROM VIDS IV SEEN IT SHOULD BE A STREAM. CAN ANY ONE INLIGHTEN ME ON THIS--THANKS. :facepalm:

sounds like you may have ablockage in the line some where. Mud dobber wasps like to plug any hole they can find. Try blowing some compressed air in line to clear.

No blockage any more, cleaned out when i tore the engine apart, is what started this nightmare in the first place. Main thing i want to find out is do i really need the water deflectors around the cylinders for the water flow or can i remove them to allow an unrestricted water flow thanks.

yes you need them no they cannot be removed without risking serious engine damage
