When I started my boat for the first time this year I hooked the muffs up to it and after I started it there was water pouring out of the flange where the lower unit bolts to the outdrive,a small hole in the bellow and down by the transom.I havn't had time to take a good look at it yet.How bad does everyone think it is?

It may be normal. But without knowing make, model, and year of your drive it's impossible to say for sure.

It doesn't matter what kind of boat you have, what engine and drive do you have.

There are two holes in the transom shield that are exhaust idle relief ports. When on muffs, what will come out of those holes first instead of out of the prop.
The hole in the bellows is a drain hole.
Everything is normal when running on muffs.

So, you're saying that you believe it's ok?

No, I'm not saying it's ok, Im saying that there are places water come out before it gets to the prop, and usually it's in the general area you discribe.
Now, if I could actually see where the water is coming from then I could say for sure if it was Ok or not.

On my Cobra 90% of the water comes out of those areas when on the muffs.
Is this the first time you run it with muffs on?

No, it's not.I just don't remember it coming out of those areas last year.
Is it possible to post a short vid or pic? Most forums limit sizes quite a bit.

looks like its spraying out of the exhaust rubber connector?

not a pro here, but I'd inspect that for cracks or leaks.

Where the water is coming out is totally normal. The exhaust boot has slits or holes in it for drainage.

You should never run you engine with the drive in that position. You are killing your u-joints. Lower it down as far as you can before starting it. You should also be storing it in the down position.

100% agree with bruce, except for one thing.
Before you put the boat in the water, pull the drive, check the U-Joint bellows and drive for damage for running it while tilted up like that.
You probably at least have some holes in the bellows, and you really don't want water in your bellows and drive.

Don S. is talking about the u-joint, or drive bellows. The exhaust bellows is the one with the slits in it...2 different bellows. Drive bellows must not leak.

Yea, you better check those ujoints after running it full tilt like that. I toasted mine last year after getting into a bay with seaweed so thick u could walk on it. Had to run it almost full tilt to get out, & wrecked my ujoints & gimbal bearing. Also, when running on muffs, don't crank the spigot up full or you stand a chance of blowing a seal from too much water pressure.
