Water coming out mid section

I just recently upgraded from my 1997 Johnson 9.9 2 stroke to a 2000 Johnson 15 2 stroke(used) previous owner gave me receipt of the service done by mechanic which included new impeller, spark plugs and gear oil. Brought it home put the muffs on and fired up. Water pumping under cowling and under cavitation plate. The issue is it's also leaking out mid section which I'm not sold is supposed to happen. I understand using garden hose ads pressure so i then tried in a barrel and still leakage. My 9.9 never did that. Maybe different model is the difference? Took it fishing and motor cut out after running full throttle which is a gas issue that hopefully is fixed but won't know until tomorrow. I'm using same tank, same fuel from my old 9.9 which never has any issues whatsoever so I'm confused. After getting back I drained lower end oil to see if any water go in and it was still new, no water. Would running it 10 minutes in the lake be enough time for water to get in? Is there drainage holes in mid section I'm not aware of. I am attaching a picture and video for reference.

That water coming out behind the lower mount is normal and intended. It is supposed to do that. If it didn't, there would be a problem.

Well that's good to know. On a related note it keeps bogging out in neutral and drive. Won't idle unless I give it throttle. Took filter cap off and screen is clean and clean fuel coming through. Any thoughts? Thanks

Seems to be ideling in the video just fine?

Why do you assume it's a fuel issue? leaking?
Check operating temp at top of head. Over 160F is overheating (will be too hot to touch). Checking with an IR tester, should see something around 140F. Don't run it hard until you troubleshoot the issue.

It was. That was the day I purchased it and put it on. Day after left me dry on the water do to bogging out. Last 2 weekends including this afternoon I've started it and same result. Not confident dropping in the water and limping her back again if it can't hold a idle in a barrel.

can't figure out what you are saying. If a fuel leak, check all lines and connectors. Check fuel pump and carb. Don't use it until resolved.

Well it ran fine and then it didn't....

Should be easy to diagnose.

First check for GOOD spark.

Then I'm assuming you might have used old fuel or questionable fuel. Remove carb and clean/rebuild carb.

Not sure everyone knows that first picture is a video.

Also, not sure why water is coming out there but tell tale seems to be pumping well.

It's definitely not going into water until fixed. My last 2 engines never stalled out so this is all new to me. Sure it could be several issues. Just didn't know if it was something simple I'm overlooking. Other than that I may have to take to a mechanic as I'm not familiar enough with outboard engines

Personally prefer the 93 to 96's . The later models are just not as robust.

If it's bogging clean the carb , or rebuild it (better)

Use an OEM kit don't cheap out

I don't know. They changed something after 96. I know that's not a very technical answer . Just something I've experienced.

Been through about two dozen motors this season and always have problems with those models, and rarely ever have problems with those made pre 96 .

They were the same thing from 1993 to 2007 , bigger bore than the 92 and older.
