Hi All,
The socket of one of the injectors in my 4.3 Penta GXI-E detached from the fuel rail.
Dealer prince is over 1200 US dollars for the whole rail.
Looking for alternatives
knowing this is a fuel high pressure need some strength to hold.
Can this be welded or somehow re-attached to the rail with something?
I found a very similar on Ebay with a different part number and advertised for engines 2007 and up, by any chance anyone know if those can be exchanged?

Thank you
Frank

Thank you for reply but no, not the retainer, i am talking about the actual piece welded to the rail that holds the injector and retainer to the rail.
From the same graphic the nipple protruding on the lower side of the rail and where the injector seat.

Thank you
Frank

There are boat ‘salvage yards’ that may be able to get you a used one. I looked on eBay as well and a too good to be true popped up for a 4.3, not sure it’s the proper fit but worth checking. Here is the link.

The fuel rail is a GM part.

However a good tig welder can weld the cup back on

I am sure they are not welded on but silver soldered. An easy fix for a half decent welding shop.
