Volvo Penta 280 outdrive tilt issues

I have an AQ 260 motor with a 280 outdrive. My tilt wasn't working so i replaced the tilt trim motor, both relays and a 40 amp fuse. My tilt cycled once ( was able to raise it) but now it does nothing (doesn't even click when I operate the tilt switch). I tested the motor by bypassing the relays. Any ideas on what else it could be?

12.4 volts. Is there another fuse or relay switch closer to the tilt switch on the dash?

there is the large fuse at the starter which supplies the motor, there is the control voltage which comes from the helm. have you checked voltage while operating at the motor? is the motor itself getting voltage?

there is a limit switch in the relay box that stops the tilt motor when it is all the way down. if that switch isn't working, it won't go down at all. the limit switch is centered in the box with the button going down through the box to contact the shaft that goes up and down. check it out.

Where would I find this "relay box" on a Cruisers 280 Cxi? (The boat is a 2005 but both engines were replaced with new in 2019. Plus the starbard outdrive (SX) was replaced.

Just yesterday my volvo penta trim has stopped working. No up/down. I inspected the switch on the shifter and the three wires are very rusted. I managed to find and order an exact replacement.. For $20 plus it was worth giving it a shot. It will get here soon enough…Ran out of day light so today Im studying what to test with my multimeter..Theres is no clicking sound..no binding. Its like the power is off. When you hit the switch the trim guage does not move That tells me its a simple fix or a complicated one.. no in between..
interesting how my Chaparral has circuit breakers/resets for everything but this.

Thanks to all the info on iboats I traced my problem to a fuse box mounted around the top left of my 8.1 GXI G Volvo Penta. Blown fuse…replaced it. Good for now..
