Been so darn hot and windy. I'll get used to the heat soon and venture out there from 6pm to 6am. If you have a fishing pole hanging off the boat, you will likely meet the law most times you go out.

Thanks! I have to say if there were more industry out there I would make the move in a minute. I am just unable to find any jobs in my field out that way.

yep, the jobs are scarce thats for sure. i have several friends out of work for over a year now. I lost my construction job a few years ago as well. Most of the construction companies in town went out of business now. And, no new resorts being built really hurts things locally here.

I figured the job market must be huring out there. There was a Casino about 1/3 the way completed that I did not see anybody work on all week we were there. It was like they had just walked away from it. I also did not see anybody hitting anything worth a darn in any of the casinos that I was in. In the past you would atleast see one or two in a busy area however this trip not a one.

There were some nice pics posted! I stopped by mead on the way to Powell and the water sure was warm! It was in july. I prefer powell as it is at a higher elevation and not quite as hot. The senery at Powell is hard to beat.

HOWEVER, if you boat at Lake Mead, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR BOAT IS CLEANED AND DISENFECTED FROM QUAGA MUSSELS PRIOR TO USING YOUR BOAT AT ANY OTHER LAKE!!

Unfortunatly, the lake is contaminated with the mussels and they will live in your engine cooling system or water in the bilge and be spread to other lakes.

Is anyone heading out to mead this weekend? I'll be cruisin around Echo Bay on Saturday with the kids and family. Probably heading up to Glory Hole cove.

Now I know where it's at, after looking at the map -chuckle-. It's right across from Stewarts Point in that big sandy cove. Had a ex-fishing mate used to fish and camp in that cove for cat fish and stripers. I have a buddie that has a cuddy sliped at Echo and I'll be going up there more now that the road is finally finished. The Overton is nice and quiet.

yep, thats the one. great beach. and they used to have a floating restroom there too, not sure if it still is or not though. The 2 coves to the north of it have nice beaches also.
