o.k so for those you that read my last post, heres the new problem. i was having trouble getting my 1989 115 mercury tilt/trim motor working it would not spin. both the seleniods were clicking but the motor, nothing. after hours of hitting it with a hammer, it started to spin a bit. so i removed the small screw in front of the trim motor and that must have let some air out and motor now spins. but only down... the new problem, i tried to purg it hoping once i got all the air out it would work up and down. but i have had no luck.
i raise the motor up by hand using the plastic screw on the right side of the t/t, than use the tilt motor to lower it. i did this a good 30 times and still wasnt getting anywhere. most of the other post i resd on this topic it was the other way round.
can the motor be purged this way or am i doing somthing wrong? i dont know what else to try can anyone help? thanks.
