Several Intakes were designed to bring the Exhaust Gas in the Intake Riser, right up to the Bottom of the Throttle Body on the Carb, to get enough Heat to melt any Ice to prevent Icing and engine Stall.
Ford started Preheating the Air going into the Carb, in the Late 50s to reduce Icing. I busted the Heat Stove off of my first Car, and after that, the engine would have issues until the Engine warmed up enough for some Heat to migrate to the Carb, and melt the ice. I had Installed a Manual Choke to be able to keep the Throttle open more if it started Icing. It was especially bad on cool rainy days. Another Reason for me to Hate Humidity.

Anyone consider his fuel that he is buying has water in it ?? Been there on that one !!
Water separates and hangs out at the Bottom of the Gas Tank, waiting to plug up filters. It really doesn't mix very well with gas, even those with 10% Ethanol

My Grandfather was convinced that there was Water in the Gasoline, because Water, a Product of the Combustion of Hydrocarbons, was coming out the Exhaust. To him it was Water that was added to the Gas by the Oil Robber Barons.

I have a 38 year old boy who probably wishes he had. I'm of the opinion that school has become a training establishment rather than learning...

If you push this button here you will have your answer.-----No need to learn spelling as your phone does this all for you.----No need for " rithmatic " as your calculator and cash register does this for you.

That's fine if you're playing video games, I am disgusted.. don't want to derail the thread so probably should get back to simple things..

After thought.. I do remember a wizard in a box.. LOL

However, when it sloshes around it may not mix but the water gets picked and run thru the system causing the motor to stall and make it loose power and hard to start! Been there on many ocassions !!

I mentioned that in the latter Half of the 1st Sentence

FR, the "stove" in old carb motors was to heat up the automatic choke, and cause it to open when the exhaust manifold (and engine) were warm. It was not designed to prevent icing of the carb.

Icing of the carb is only an issue on airplanes., and then only at altitude It does not affect boats.
that tube was to provide warm air to the motor on cold days. without it the motor would have a stumble until it was warm

Flash, did you ever examine the "stove" on an old carb car? They run a bit of vacuum thru the automatic choke housing, via a small hole drilled thru the carb body into the throat.. A piece of thin pipe (say 4" long) wrapped in asbestos runs from the choke housing to the exhaust manifold. The warm air from the exhaust manifold then warms the choke spring, turning off the choke.

The stove does not de-ice the carb, and I have never heard of a carb icing up in a car. Even in winter, carbs work just fine, as long as the fuel doesn't have water in it.

Not sure about your motorcycles. My sterndrive had an electrically heated automatic choke, since the manifolds were water cooled. The electrical element warmed the choke spring to make sure the choke turned off after the motor was warm. No icing on that beast either.

Back to the OP the only thing I have for you is to check your operating temp. If it’s running cold check your thermostat. Maybe it’s stuck open.

I searched for the "vapor pressure of water". What I found should keep y'all busy awhile:

The vapour pressure of water is the pressure exerted by molecules of water vapor in gaseous form (whether pure or in a mixture with other gases such as air). The saturation vapour pressure is the pressure at which water vapour is in thermodynamic equilibrium with its condensed state. At pressures higher than vapour pressure, water would condense, whilst at lower pressures it would evaporate or sublimate. The saturation vapour pressure of water increases with increasing temperature and can be determined with the Clausius–Clapeyron relation. The boiling point of water is the temperature at which the saturated vapour pressure equals the ambient pressure. The vapour pressure of water is the pressure exerted by molecules of water vapor in gaseous form (whether pure or in a mixture with other gases such as air). Think I would check the top of the head with an IR thermometer, when the motor should be at running temp (around 140F). Ambient heat from the powerhead presumably heats the carb some, while fuel cools it.

Here we go again. Moisture inside and outside of the carb causing stalling at idle. Took some temperature readings and it seems to be running too cold? Refer to pictures.

You know, there are hundreds of perpetual motion machine designs on the internet. Of course, perpetual motion is impossible, but that does not stop the internet from pretending it is possible and even promising free energy to anyone who used their perpetual motion machines.

It really reminds me of this thread. Carb icing is not going to happen in the summer in a boat. Freon is a much better refrigerant than gasoline, and you still need to compress it, cool it to ambient temp and then let it expand to get colder than freezing. It is not happening to gasoline, in a carb motor.
