I have a 1995 wellcraft with a 4.3 mercruiser its the lx. I am trying to find the part number for the v belts one goes to the power stearing and the other goes i belive to the alternator. The engine serial number is 0F299266. If anyone can help i would be greatly appreciatve. It has the normal water pump on the out drive. If that is any help thanks ahead of time.

Take the old belts to the car parts shop and get a good quality belt. Way cheaper than OEM....

^^^^ +1 Usually there is a number on the belt that you can cross reference.

However, I often go to http://www.mercruiserparts.com and look up the numbers for various parts, like belts.

On my previous boat, it turned out that the existing alternator belt was about 2 sizes too big . . . no wonder it was at the end of its adjustment range and barely tight.

Once you get the generic number, the automotive stores should have a suitable belt.

All good advice-- if your belts are worn -- and espacially if your pulleys are rusted you old belts will be thinner than when new.

Good argument for matching the oem part number.

Your lucky day. The boat with my old engine (1994 4.3LX) came in for service this morning... I put non-genuine belts on it years ago, and they're just fine. So, here are the numbers straight off the belts themselves.

Alternator belt:- 11A1180
Power steering belt:- 11A1335
